September 14, 2023

September 15, 2023

9:00am - 3:45pm  Social Experience

Golf at Gaylord Springs Golf Course

Gaylord Springs Golf Links has consistently been recognized among the best courses you can play in Tennessee. Carved from the banks of the meandering Cumberland River, the Scottish links-style, par-36 layout offers 9 holes bordered by limestone bluffs and wetlands. With challenges around every fairway bend, Gaylord Springs forces you to think and react, creating a satisfying finish every time a flag is pulled from the cup. From tee to green, no matter your skill level, you’ll be inspired by the beauty surrounding you.

10:00am - 3:00pm  Social Experience

Hat Makin' & Bourbon Sippin'

Flourish with the perfect Nashville pair; bourbon and Wrangler hats. Head over to a local Rustler Hat Co. for an exclusive hat shop experience to customize your perfect 100% Australian wool hat. Each guest will choose hat color plus add charms, fabric wraps, stitching and fire burnt accents with the help of a professional hat designer. Then head to lunch at Nelson’s Greenbrier Distillery’s brand-new restaurant followed by distillery tour and tasting. Founded in the 1800s by their great-great-great grandfather Charles Nelson, the Nelson brothers have resurrected Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery —not just to make and sell whiskey—but to rebuild a business that helped bring the term ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ to America and Europe.

CIOs at cloud-powered companies know that transformation is a cross-enterprise effort requiring sustained innovation. Though CIOs are likely to be in sync with key business functions from talent and risk to data and operations, their expertise can be overlooked within key business decision-making spaces. This leads to disparate business systems and a fragmented cloud journey which impacts the ability to deliver ROI. How can you, as a Global CIO, be viewed as “the great integrator” in your organization?

Join this session to discuss:

  • Ways to work with C-suite peers to transform and integrate your industry ecosystem

Join your peers for the final day of the Global CIO Executive Summit. During this interactive roundtable discussion, executives will unpack the lessons learned from the previous days, discuss the future of the CIO role, the shifting nature of building their personal brand, and how they can grow personally and professionally.

Topic 1: Key Takeaways from the Summit

Share your thoughts on memorable moments during the Executive Summit.

  • What lessons will you take back to the office for yourself?
  • What will you share with other executives?
  • What can you share with your IT leadership team?

Topic 2: Building Your Personal Brand and Executive Presence

The complexities of today’s world can bring constant change, which then affects how the organization and its leaders view the CIO. As these shifts happen, the Global CIO is challenged to maintain their influence and relationships across the enterprise by creating an authentic brand. In this portion of the discussion, attendees will discuss how they have built a personal brand that has adapted with the transformation of technology and business.

Global CIOs will discuss:

  • Defining your current brand: What kind of leader have you been in the past? What qualities do you see in yourself and what would others say about you? Is your personal brand distinguishable from the IT department brand? Did you inherit a reputation from your predecessor that you are trying to dispel?
  • Defining your future brand: What kind of leader do you want to be? How do you want your IT team to describe you as a leader? How do you want your C-level peers to describe you? Does your ideal brand fit within your current enterprise?
  • Setting a plan: What behaviors can you change now to help you walk on the path you set for your future brand? Who and what do you need to influence to shift the perception of your current brand? Who and what can help you shape and establish your ideal personal brand?

Topic 3: A Global Leader’s Future Growth

Successful CIOs dedicate time to developing their career and professional skills. As the nature of the digital world causes their roles and responsibilities to expand, the Global CIO is finding ways to advance their career through personal and professional development. Creating an ambitious career path, IT leaders can find ways to engage across the C-suite, build knowledge outside of their comfort zone, and master new opportunities, bounding them into the future.

Global CIOs will discuss:

  • Reflect: What are you proud of when you look back on your career? What skills have you built over time that will help you in your next role? What gaps do you still need to develop? Who has mentored you and what qualities do you admire in this guide?
  • Plan: What type of role do you see yourself holding five years from now? Are you looking to expand your leadership responsibility? Do you want to have a larger scope and influence, or would you like to take a step back? Do you still want to lead technology teams, or would you like to move into another type of role?
  • Action: Identify opportunities inside or outside of your current organization that can help you progress in your current role. What development opportunities have you taken, or would you like to take, to help you get there? What sort of risks can you take in your career that will expand your knowledge and experience?
