Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
I started out as an entrepreneur right out of college. Humbled by the learning experience, I opted to join Texas Instruments, which eventually led me to the USA. I took the opportunity to explore different aspects of the IT function.
I started in application development, leading a Center of Excellence, and infrastructure and enterprise architecture where I explored functional, technical and leadership roles. I found the greatest satisfaction in building teams that eventually led to my current position.
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
More things can be achieved by focusing on building trust and relationships amongst team members to accomplish results through attaining the teams' highest potential.
What is the greatest challenge your particular C-level role is facing today, and how are you addressing it?
The advent of general artificial intelligence will have a profound impact on how technology is used to solve business problems. It will add both challenges and provide huge benefits if deployed wisely. Determining the importance and impact of this on people, process and technology is the greatest challenge.
What is the key to success for someone just starting out in your C-level role?
Understanding the culture of the organization and aligning it with the organizational goals and purpose is the key to success.
How do you measure success as a leader?
I measure success by a leader’s desire to learn and grow through building high-performing teams to deliver results.
