The CSCO Mandate — Turning Cost Pressure into Enterprise Performance
Mary Blair
EVP & CSCO
Waupaca Foundry, Inc
Only 21% of CSCOs feel confident they can meet short term cost expectations according to Gartner Insights. Cost management has reached a critical inflection point as CEOs and CFOs demand margin protection while volatility, inflation, labor constraints and shifting customer expectations intensify.
The most effective CSCOs are redefining cost performance by improving P&L credibility, sharpening cost visibility and modernizing network decisions to lift enterprise value. With AI and automation, they are expanding capacity and streamlining core processes for greater speed and quality.
The mandate is clear: supply chains must deliver measurable cost impact today while supporting the long term evolution of the network, the workforce and the technology foundation. CSCOs who balance immediate pressure with a forward looking view of resilience and capacity will set the next benchmark for performance.
