Beyond AI Deployment — The CIO as a Business Value Leader

AI has shifted from a technology initiative to a business imperative, increasing expectations for CIOs to influence outcomes far beyond IT. CEOs and boards are looking to technology leaders not only to deploy AI, but also to help shape strategy, improve decision-making, and contribute directly to business growth.

As accountability for AI outcomes expands, CIOs must build stronger partnerships across the executive team, establish clear ownership models, and identify where AI can create the greatest business impact. This conversation focuses on how leading CIOs are redefining their role and driving enterprise value in the next phase of AI adoption.

Discussion Questions:

  1. How have expectations from CEOs and boards changed as AI adoption has matured?

  1. Where are you seeing the greatest opportunities for AI to create business value beyond productivity gains?

  1. How are you defining accountability for AI outcomes across IT and the business?

  1. How are you identifying and prioritizing the AI opportunities most likely to drive business impact?

  1. What capabilities will define successful CIO leadership over the next three years?
